Build Financial Freedom with Your New Brightside Benefit
Published:
Oct 11, 2024
L
When the unexpected happens, it can feel like an uphill climb. It could be a larger-than-usual bill, an unexpected move, or a life change. There are steps you can take to get back on track through your free Brightside Financial Care benefit.
Curious how Brightside can help? Hear from a few people who have used Brightside to build a stronger financial foundation – all with the help and support of their own dedicated Brightside financial assistant (a real person!)
When Trenton’s* credit card balances reached $31,000, he felt like all his extra income was going toward managing debt. His Brightside financial assistant
helped him create a debt pay down plan that saved Trenton $2,400 in interest and helped him become debt-free in two years.
Melinda* had debt in collections and wasn’t sure what to do. Brightside helped her settle her debt for 60% of the amount owed and negotiate its removal from her credit report.
Following her divorce, Luisa* used a payday loan to move to a new apartment, but the monthly payments were higher than expected. Brightside helped Luisa secure more affordable funds she
could use to pay off the payday loan, saving her $290 a month in interest.
Brightside's financial assistants will work to understand your unique and specific needs, priorities, and goals - always without judgment. They are partners here to help you find solutions to help
you save money on your debt, pay it off faster, deal with late payments or debt in collections, and help you take other steps to improve your financial life - always confidential and for
free.
To get started:
Download the Brightside app, visit the website, or call 888-409-0030 (8 a.m. to 8 p.m. ET, weekdays).
Have one of the following handy to register: Amazon alias or login ID, birth date, last four digits of your Social Security number, home ZIP code.

Small Actions, Big Impact
Meet the Amazonian training others to help make sustainability part of their everyday work.
Flavia Silveira is a Workplace Health and Safety specialist and waste coordinator at YYC5 in Canada. She was the first waste coordinator hired in Canada, and now she's training others across the network to take part in sustainability efforts.
"I love the problem-solving aspect of the role," she says. "It gives me a sense of well-being knowing I can help others and the environment all at once."
At her previous site, Flavia helped surpass their donation goals year after year, and the site diverted ~70% of hazardous waste from landfills in just the first year of their donation program. Now at YYC5, she's training more teammates in waste and donation processing.
But initiatives like this only work when everyone gets involved. "People need to understand exactly how they can help before the doing begins," she explains.
Her approach? Show up with enthusiasm and help her teammates see that small actions can truly add up to something big.
Have an idea for your site? Ask your manager how to get involved with sustainability initiatives today.

What each document does:
-
Will. Makes sure the things you own go to the people you choose. If you have children who are minors, it also identifies who should act as their guardian.

Living will. Captures your end-of-life decisions in writing.
-
Power of attorney. Authorizes someone you trust to make decisions about your finances and healthcare if you're ever unable to.
How to get started:
-
Go to the MetLife website and create an account using your personal email address. Enter "Amazon" in the "Employer or Organization" field.
-
Check the box confirming the limited-time offer, and click “Continue” to complete your account setup.
-
Once your account is set up, MetLife’s platform will guide you through the process of creating your estate plan. You’ll answer a few questions and then digitally sign and download your completed documents.
-
Notarize your documents. Depending on the state you live in,* you may be able to do this online. If online notarization isn’t available in your state, simply take your unsigned final documents to a licensed notary. The notary will instruct you on when to sign them to make them official.
